A short game of spot the overclaim
Structured literacy: sounds first, taught explicitly, in order. The same approach behind Orton-Gillingham tutoring, not another guessing game with a mascot.
We never say cure, never promise a grade level, and never test children on words they just practiced. Progress is measured on words met for the first time, across separate days.
The full measurement rules, thresholds included, are published on the how we measure page. If a chart ever outruns the rules, you will catch us.
No camera, no microphone, no ads, nothing sold. Families can export or delete their data whenever they wish.
IEP-ready reports exist in the product and are deliberately held back until our measurement proves itself on repeat testing. The outside tests you already use are logged by name and sit on the record beside ours: CTOPP-2, and every other test we support. We never copy a publisher's materials, and when we do not know something yet, the product says so in writing.
Test names are trademarks of their owners, used only to record scores. Lillory is not affiliated with or endorsed by any test publisher.
When a report comes back showing dyslexia or a specific reading difficulty, families almost always ask the same question: what do we do at home? Lillory is built to be a safe answer to that question, an adjunct to instruction, never a replacement for it and never a diagnostic.
Structured literacy on Orton-Gillingham aligned principles: sounds taught first, explicitly, in a fixed cumulative order, each skill building on the one before. This is the same approach behind evidence-based reading intervention, not a guessing game with a mascot. Every word, sentence and image in the product is original.
Skills count as mastered only when a child reads brand-new words, ones they have never practiced, correctly at first sight, across separate days. That design is what separates real decoding from a rehearsed answer, and it is why a Lillory progress record is worth setting beside your own testing.
External measures such as CTOPP-2, DIBELS-8 and TOWRE-2 are logged by name and stored as the instrument reported them, never averaged across different norms or recomputed into a single flattering number. Cross-instrument scores are never blended, because that is not valid.
No timers, no losing streaks, no score that falls, no deficit language on a child's screen. A missed word becomes a quiet note for the adult, not a mark against the child, so practice stays safe enough to happen again tomorrow.
No camera, no microphone, no tracking of children, a first name and progress only. COPPA and FERPA are handled in plain language, with a written security program behind it, and families can export or delete their data at any time.
