What helps reading practice carry over from the resource room to the classroom?

A reader who gets every word right in the small group can lose those words by the time they are back at their desk. Carry over is the hardest part of any pull out model.

What helped the skills travel: shared word lists between rooms, a two minute check back in the classroom, the same routines in both places? What never carried at all?
